ANNUAL EVENTS

Each year, the Olvera Street Merchants, in partnership with El Pueblo Historical Monument, host a variety of traditional events.All events are FREE of charge, and open to the public.  All are welcome!
Muertos Artwalk
Annual event hosting over 30 local artists from the greater Los Angeles area.

Day of the Dead
October 25– November 2
Nightly novenario procession begins at 7:00pm, which includes an indigenous blessing ceremony and live performances.

Las Posadas
December 16 - 24 (6:30pm)
Nine-night procession depicting the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem. Christmas carols in Spanish and English. Children’s piñata and live entertainment. Click here for more info.


Three Kings Day ~~ Dia de los Reyes
January 6 (7:00pm)
A celebration with music and rosca de Reyes.

 
Candelaria
February 2
Traditional blessing of elaborately dressed statues of Baby Jesus, culminating the Christmas season. Live entertainment and prizes. 


Blessing of the Animals
Saturday before Easter
Centuries-old tradition of blessing animals for the benefits they provide mankind. Fun entertainment throughout the day.

All pets (and people) welcome!
Blessing is from 2:00-3:00pm.

Cinco de Mayo (on or around May 5)
